Much of what the Christian Service Camp movement is today can be attributed to the faithful efforts of Christian leaders within the Standard Publishing Co.

 In 1970 Charles Matthews of Standard Publishing and Bill Wade, a former servant at Standard who was then a professor at Atlanta Christian College, organized the first Christian Camp Leader’s Conference, which was held at Atlanta Christian College.

Following that meeting, a conference was convened every two years with Standard Publishing often covering much of the cost of the conference.  Later an Advisory Committee was selected to continue the conference and then in just a few years the conference decided to hold the Christian Camp Leaders Conference annually.
